WOH a traditional newari dish made of black lentils. Now this picture is taken by me i know i am a horrible photographer but at least i cook OK. Being a newar we eat quite a lot of these kind of dishes woh, choyla being some of the must haves. My mom is the one who cooks all the traditional dishes but recently i have been learning some and this is the first dish i learned. so here is my mom's recipe of WOH.
Woh
Ingredients:
- Black lentils (paste)-1cup
- Corriander (chopped) - 1 cup
- Salt -½ tsp
- Ginger-garlic paste -½ tsp
- Cumin powder - ½ tsp
- Onion seeds-½ tsp
- Asafetida (hing)-1pinch
- Oil -½ liter
Procedure:
- · Firstly take black lentils, wash it properly and blend it in a blender until it forms a smooth paste. If you are using lentil powder add some water and form a paste.
- · Now add all the ingredients in the paste and mix it well.
- · Heat the oil in another pan. Make small ball of the paste and fry it well.
- · Serve hot.
